The Star - As the countdown to the Smirnoff Dream weekend in Negril begins, entertainers have shown their support to the event with special dubs.In a month-long promotion before the weekend, which kicks off this Friday, entertainers such as Beenie Man, Richie Loops, Chris Martin, Elephant Man and Bounty Killer have all added their voices in support.
Richie Loop's My Cupp, Chris Martin's Come Where You Going, Elephant Man and Bounty Killer's This Is How We Do It and Beenie Man and Fambo's Rum and Red Bull have all been made into dubs that have been airing on the radio and at parties.
Dream team's Kamal Bankay told THE STAR, "we choose Richie Loop's My Cupp because it's one of the biggest party songs of 2010, one of the biggest singles released this year. Chris Martin's song came out and we thought it was the right theme 'cause we want everyone to come to Dream weekend. Ele and Bounty has one of the hottest songs in dancehall music just like Beenie Man. These are two of the absolute hottest songs by three of dancehall's giants."
As well as endorsing the party weekend vocally, according to Bankay, a number of entertainers will also be partying alongside their patrons. Beenie, Elephant Man, Bounty, Richie Loops, Chris Martin are all expected to attend among others. Bankay said, "the artistes have really been supporting Dream where we approached them to be partners in terms of advertising. We're expecting others to come out too, like Denyque, Tifa and Timberlee. We're expecting all of the Big Ship crew and Mavado to come as well."
